Getting Ready for Fall

It’s like a great big fall love fest around here, can you tell I am just a little bit excited for the weather to change.  Seattle is absolutely hands down the best place in the world to be in the fall, but I may be a bit biased.

With the release of the Fall Collection by Indiesew it really got me into fall mode so why not go all fall and share with you another way I am getting ready for fall, the Sophie Cardi by Muse Patterns.

This cardi is the perfect layer for fall especially when made with this super cozy french terry from Imagine Gnats.  This pattern is full of options, you can choose between the 3 necklines, buttons or zippers and two pockets.  I went for the collar zipper version and the side seam pockets.

And check out those sleeves, for a girl with long arms I did a little happy dance when I put this cardi on because the sleeves were extra long, even on me!

The collar on this cardi has such a fun shape, just enough to give some visual interest without being over the top.

The only thing I would change when making this pattern next time is give it a little more length, but that is a common alteration I have to make.  The pattern was designed so that it hit you at high hip, but for a long torso girl like me, my high hip is lower than most.  I still think it looks great but a little more length next time would be even better.

The Sophie Cardi by Muse Patterns is definitely one of those patterns you will keep coming back to.  The style and fit is perfect for constant rotation in your wardrobe.  Plus it’s a quick sew which makes this sewing mama happy.

Now is your turn, I want to know how you are getting ready for fall.  Share the patterns you have in the works or on the list for your fall wardrobe.
