Introducing my newest pattern two years in the making, the Qualicum Jumpsuit.
Qualicum is a relaxed fit woven jumpsuit available in 3 different views. The jumpsuit features front button placket, two oversized pockets, and beautiful inside finishes. Sew it with or without sleeves and a choice of three different lengths.
Qualicum is designed to be oversized with a positive ease of 4″ through the bust, 14″ through the waist, and 5″ through the hips. As with my other patterns, it is drafted for a height of 5’9″ and provides you with either a B or D sewing cup.
As I was sewing up the MANY samples for this pattern I found what a difference each fabric made in the overall look of the garment. When working with a more structured fabric like linen or lightweight denim you are left with a closer fit. But make it out of double gauze like the one above and it is the ultimate flowy jumpsuit.
The pattern calls for six buttons which I took as an opportunity to show off some of my new favourite buttons. But I have also made the jumpsuit with snaps when I just wasn’t up for sewing buttonholes. Also watch in the coming weeks for another fun variation on the front placket…
The big front pockets not only offer a great visual detail for this pattern but I can attest they are perfect candy holders as well.
There will be a full sew along soon, so keep an eye out for that.
Qualicum is marked down through Sunday in the shop, so grab your copy today.
Happy Sewing,
Kimberly
