Sundressing 2017 – Magnolia Dress

One of my favourite projects last year was creating the Carkeek dress for the 30 Days of Sundresses with Melissa of Melly Sews.

Well I am back again for this years Sundressing 2017 with my newest FREE pattern, Magnolia!

Magnolia is a knit swing dress with a hi-low hem that is the perfect dress for those warm summer days.  The back features a racerback with gathered yoke.

With the added fabric from the gathered back detail you get so much swing in the dress, that paired with a more fitted front bust gives you a great silhouette without being too tight.

I wanted to play around with this pattern to see how it would work colour blocked and the result is the perfect every day casual dress.

The neckline on Magnolia is the same deep scoop as my Montlake tee which is by far my favourite neckline.  This dress has already been in heavy rotation and I know it will be my go to outfit for the warm summer months ahead.

The pattern includes sizes 0-24 and is a full and complete PDF pattern.  So if you have never sewn with one of my patterns, this is a great way to get a feel for what my patterns are like.

To get your copy of the pattern simply click the picture below and the file will be instantly downloaded. *Edited to note: The original file didn’t include the pattern pieces 🙂 but it has now been updated*

Make sure to head over to Melly Sews to follow along with all the other Sundresses this month.

Just about finished with my first one and I can see a few more in the future! Do you think this has enough ease for a woven fabric like voile or lawn?
