Sew the Year: Sewing for Kids with Abby of Sew Much Ado

It has been so much fun having some of my favourite sewing friends join me on the blog for Sew the Year and share something I believe them to be an expert on.  I think we can all agree that Abby of Sew Much Ado is the expert on sewing for kids.  Her kiddos are the cutest in all their mommy made clothes and she is a great pattern designer to boot.  I have had the pleasure of hanging out with Abby a few times and she is just as lovely in person as she is on her blog.  Today Abby is going to be sharing all about sewing for kids.

Summer Swimwear Tour

I feel like I haven’t sewn for my kiddos in forever, other than a few sets of pajamas that is pretty much true.  So when I was asked to join the Summer Swimwear Tour I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to sew some swimsuits for the kids.  My big plans of sewing swimsuits for both kids turned into just a swimsuit for Sophie, which turned out pretty darn cute.  Benny will get one eventually #secondkidproblems

Betty Skirt Tour

It’s no secret I love sewing for my kids, especially Sophie because she proudly wears mommy made clothes.  But the real reason I love sewing for my kids is I can create clothes that actually fit them.  Both Sophie and Ben are super skinny so in order for them to fit at the waist they will be way too short, or I can buy them clothes long enough but then they won’t stay up.  Ben has actually been wearing Sophie’s jeggings for the last year because they fit him great unlike all other pants and jeans.
