Laurelhurst

There are so many times when I see something in the store and think ‘I can make that’.  Just ask my mom and sisters, I say it all the time.  When you have the skills to make it yourself why not put that knowledge to use.

I have been on the hunt for the perfect layering wrap to wear in the strange weather we have been experiencing lately.  I wanted something that was slightly fitted while still being flowy and ultimately comfortable.  I am especially excited to share with you my newest pattern, Laurelhurst!  It couldn’t be more my style.

Bellevue Tester Roundup

The build up to pattern testing is stressful, I have no idea how the pattern is going to be received and whether the fit is going to be so off that it will take multiple versions to get right.  But every time I test a pattern regardless of how many versions it takes my testers are always so patient with me and the process.  I love having a fresh look at my patterns and take the time to hear what they have to say because I am by no means an expert, I really rely on their sewing knowledge for ever pattern.

Comfort Meets Elegance – Bellevue

I am so excited to release this pattern that has been on my mind FOREVER!  I was in a bit of a pattern design/sewing funk through most of December and January but this pattern finally brought me out of it.  It turned out exactly how I wanted and ended up being even more comfortable than I imagined.

Introducing Bellevue!

Bellevue has a wide open neckline with two finishing options, either banded or faced, and four sleeve lengths.  I am a sucker for elbow length but the short sleeve is perfect as the weather is warming up.  The pattern is a mix of knit and woven with endless possibilities.

Tester Sneak Peek of Bellevue

My testers knock my socks off this week!  The best part of testing is seeing the pictures start to roll in, even a bathroom selfie gets a huge smile from me.  I am just so excited to see another persons interpretation of my pattern.

My newest pattern, Bellevue, will be releasing next week but I wanted to give you a little taste of the great shirts I have been seeing during testing.  I will have a full tester round up late next week with all the details.  Today it is all about the eye candy 🙂

Ballard Blog Tour Day 11

Today we have not one but two ladies sharing their Ballard tops and they are both so great!

Mandalynn of Striped Swallow Designs shares my love for fabric mixing on a shirt.  I love that she used a different fabric for the sleeves and bands than the rest of the shirt.  Mandalynn also decided to do the overlaps in the back smaller than the pattern states so that the opening would be bigger and I love it!

I won’t ruin the back of this shirt for you so you have to head over to Mandalynns blog to see more pictures of her Ballard.

Ballard Blog Tour Day 10

The Ballard blog tour is coming to a close in a few days but there is no shortage of amazing bloggers still to come.

Today we have my friend Jaime of Jaime Sews in a beautiful floral version.  It’s the most perfect fall floral!

It is extra special having her on the tour today because she is one of my biggest cheerleaders in this crazy online sewing community!

Now head over to her blog and read more about her shirt and see pictures of the back.

It’s Love Y’all

It is no secret I love to sew for myself.  I am the type of person that will whip up a dress when I am having a bad day or throw together a quick shirt because it is date night and I want something new to wear.

What I love even more than sewing for myself is when I can create something new that doesn’t require taping another pattern together.  Because lets all be real, taping a pdf pattern together is the pits.

Ballard Blog Tour Day 9

Joining the blog tour this morning is Kimberly of Pity Kitty, a great tester I have had for both the Ravenna and Ballard patterns.  She sewed up this comfy version of the Ballard that is perfectly paired with grey jeans and flats.

Make sure to head over to her blog to see more of her version of the Ballard pattern.

A few more days of the blog tour are ahead of us, so make sure to come back tomorrow for more great looks.
